Recommended Readings

I cannot take credit for all the ideas that I have. Many articles that I write are directly inspired by the writings and muses of others. I’ve listed some works as further readings at the end of blogs, but I decided to create a comprehensive list here. They are great further readings especially if the content I publish is of interest.

Many but not all of them are works written by queer, black, or Asian authors. They cover topics such as the experience of being an “other,” travel, love, depression, and relationships.

“You Will Fall in Love with a Broken Person” by Ella Ceron
“Getting Out” by Cleopatra Mathis
“The Quiet One” by Che Yeun
“Glow Worm” by Graham Walzer
“Am I Blue?” by Alice Walker
“Stranger in the Village” by James Baldwin
“Dignity” by Suzen Rita Chang
“Punished: Policing the Lives of Black and Latino Boys” by Victor Rios
“Delights and Shadows” by Ted Kooser
“The Bell Jar” by Sylvia Plath
“How ‘Iris Chang’ Became a Verb” by Paula Kamen
“12 Days” by June Kim
“To J.K. Rowling, From Cho Chang” by Rachel Rostad
“Breakfast at the Exit Cafe” by Wayne Grady and Merilyn Simmons
“Mayor of Castro Street” by Randy Shilts
The Defocus Blog by Jeremy Nixon
The journal entries of Wenqing Yan and Zhang Jingna

They are easily available upon Google Search. I will add more as I go on.
